Spend time beaching, boating, tubing down Stony Lake Channel, biking or fishing then take day trips to our local attractions.
Activities
Oval Beach
Stony Lake Channel joins Lake Michigan at Benona Township’s Oval Beach 2 miles west of Stony Haven. Relax, sunbathe or picnic on sugar-sand. Al Capone’s summer hideaway greets you as you crest the hill overlooking Lake Michigan. A boat launch for small craft and a new fishing deck accommodate sightseers and avid sportsmen.
Tubing Parties
Launch under Stony Lake bridge at the west end of the lake, and float from the grassy public swimming beach down the channel to Lake Michigan. This gentle 2 hour ride has some surprises along the way. Our 40 rental tubes range in size from 42 to 54 inches and come with or without bottoms and back rests. All tubing proceeds are donated to the Samuel Omogo Foundation to provide clean water through the construction of wells in small villages in Southeastern Nigeria.
Catch & Release
Stony Haven’s catch & release fishing pond is stocked with hybrid bluegill. Be sure to bring your poles and tackle! A gazebo with bench overlooks the pond allowing parents to relax while they watch kids fish or catch frogs. A foot bridge near the cabins crosses the pond and leads to our rustic sites. Climb the multi-level deckway or drive the road up into the private rustic area.
